About Gary

I’ve taught in three Colleges of Further Education, in areas of the Midlands and the North of England where there are high levels of social deprivation.

Now specialising in lecturing in GCSE Maths, I’ve previously had roles as an IT Coach, Youth Trainer and Lecturer in Functional Skills (English, Maths and ICT) for Apprentices. I’ve been teaching for 22 years in total.

I am proud to champion diversity in education; I am an ally of the trans community and a strong supporter of LGBT+ rights. My pronouns are he/him.

My achievements outside of education include shows on community radio, writing and performing comedy, podcasts and successes in creative writing competitions. I enjoy sculpture, brutalist architecture and murder-mystery novels, an example of which I’m trying to write myself.

I have recently qualified as a Mental Health First Aider. This is a very worthwhile qualification and a great opportunity to make a difference in your organisation. For more information, visit the MHFA England website.
